MISSION

The Diversity Awareness Initiative for Students, DAIS, is an organization dedicated to strengthening our schools and ourselves, through increased knowledge, awareness, and respect for different cultures.  Its members are comprised of students from independent, public, and parochial schools, who wish to discuss and improve human relations within the community and society at large.

Topic of Discussion- Stereotyping vs. Authenticity: The Illusion of Representation in Modern Media

All students in grades 8 - 12, who are interested in participating in DAIS are invited to attend this meeting for discussion.

Directions by train- Take the 1, 2 or 3 train to 96th Street. Walk south on Broadway to West 93rd Street. Make a left onto 93rd and walk east until you are between Columbus Avenue and Central Part West. The school is on this block. OR - Take  the B or C train to 96th Street. Walk south on Central Park West to 93rd Street. Make a right onto 93rd St. The school is on this block.
